Georgia Sea Turtle Center

PDF Print E-mail

Jekyll Island is home to Georgia's first center for the care of sick and injured sea turtles.  Sea turtles gracefully glide through the vast ocean waters and lay vulnerable eggs on beaches around the southeast coast of the U.S.  Sea turtles are often struck by boats and caught in fishing nets.  Injured sea turtles from all over the U.S. are brought to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center to be cared for and eventually released back into the ocean.  Sea turtle surgeries and physical therapies are performed at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.  Visit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center and learn about the creatures that glide through the ocean and miraculously lay eggs on beaches.  At the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, you can watch live procedures on sick sea turtles and learn how you can help save sea turtles and other marine animals through interactive exhibits.

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is located in the National Landmark Historic District at 214 Stable Road on Jekyll Island. The center is open from 10AM - 7PM daily.

Admission is:
