Jekyll Island Beaches

PDF Print E-mail

Jekyll Island has beautiful beaches that spread as far as the eye can see.  The beach is very wide and has soft sand perfect for building a sandcastle.  There are 10 miles of beaches along the shore of Jekyll Island.  You will find a large variety of shells that wash up on the shore during high tide.  Please limit your shell collecting and help to preserve the natural shoreline.  Be sure to visit Driftwood Beach on the north end of the island.  Driftwood beach is named because of the remnants of live oak trees that have washed out on the beach over time.

There are public showers and restrooms located at many public beaches at Jekyll Island.  Pack a lunch and have a picnic while watching the waves.
